The project Tourism and Disability aims to involve people with disabilities in the tourism and cultural field. The project will provide opportunities to know more about Bolivian history, culture and ecology in the department of La Paz. The principal objective of the project is to collaborate in the personal development and self-esteem for the people living with disabilities involved in the project.
The volunteers will be accompanying the people with disabilities on the following trips:
- Museo Tambo Quirquincho
- Museo Nacional de Arte Contemporáneo
- Museo de Etnografía y Folklore
- Circuito de Museos Municipales "Calle Jaén"
- Tiwanaku
After we have been on the trips we will be holding reflective sessions on what they have learnt about their culture, expressing this through different methods such as art,drama and music. We will also be holding extra sessions on intercultural exchange teaching them about UK culture.
Throughout the project we will be looking at ways to increase the inclusion of people with disabilities in Bolivian society. The team will also be strengthening the personal development and self-esteem of the young people with disabilities that we are working with.
The project is a collaboration of CEINDES and International Service using volunteers from the UK (funding provided by DFID through the ICS scheme http://www.dfid.gov.uk/ICS).
Descripción del Proyecto
El proyecto Turismo y Discapacidad, tiene el objectivo para involucrar las personas con discapacidades en la actividad turística y cultural. Se trata de ofrecer oportunidades de acercamiento a la historia, cultura y ecología boliviana en el departamento de La Paz. Lo principal del proyecto, es contribuir al fortalecimiento de la autoestima y trabajar en incrementar significativamente la calidad de vida de las personas involucradas.
Los voluntarios van a acompañar las personas con discapacidad en estas visitas:

Después de estas visitas vamos a hacer reflexión en la sede de CEINDES sobre la actividad realizada. Vamos a expresar esto a través de diferentes métodos, por ejemplo el arte, teatro y música. También vamos a tener sesiones de intercambio sobre la cultura del Reino Unido.
Durante el proyecto vamos a buscar formas para promover la inclusión social de las personas con discapacidades en Bolivia. También esperamos fortalecer el autoestima de los jóvenes y adultos con discapacidades con lo que vamos a trabajar.
El proyecto es una colaboración de CEINDES y Servicio Internacional Británico (UNAIS) Bolivia, con los voluntarios ingleses (con financiamiento de DFID a través de la esquema ICS http://www.dfid.gov.uk/ICS).
